Chad Carpenter

Chad A. Carpenter is the Executive Director of Human Resources for the Ogden City School District (13,000 students). Prior to becoming the Executive Director, Chad was the Associate Director of Human Resources for Granite School District and oversaw the HR functions of Granite’s 64 elementary schools and nearly 1,800 elementary teachers.

He earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Weber State University (2003), where he was named the Utah Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development’s Teacher of Tomorrow. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix (2006), and a M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership from Utah State University’s Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services (2011).

Mr. Carpenter has worked previously as a corporate recruiter for USANA Health Sciences, as well as an elementary school teacher. While overseeing the elementary schools, he also oversaw the insurance and benefits of Granite’s 5,000 insurance eligible employees. In this capacity, Chad implemented a successful employee wellness program and was a national presenter at the National Federation of Urban and Suburban School Districts conference in Topeka, Kansas. He has also served on Davis Applied Technology College’s Para-educator Advisory Board and the University of Phoenix’s Education Advisory Board.

Mr. Carpenter is a true believer in the educational system and has dedicated his life to making sure every child has an opportunity to enjoy success. He has been a co-sponsor of the Freedom Leadership Scholarship for a high school senior of Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah. Mr. Carpenter and his wife, Kristina, have four children in public school and enjoy spending time with them golfing, swimming, and playing board games.
