Chris Linder Awarded 2021 Presidential Scholarship
With equal amounts of pride and pleasure, we announce that Dr. Chris Linder (ELP)
has been selected as a University of Utah Presidential Scholar. Being awarded a presidential
scholarship is "recognition of excellence and achievements for faculty members at
the associate professor level." Dr. Linder will receive $10,000 a year for 3 years
to support her research and scholarship. She can use these funds in a myriad of ways
(e.g., travel, student support, equipment, etc.) to further her scholarly and research
goals. She will also be invited to attend an event this Fall to meet the other Presidential
Scholars.
In addition to being a faculty member and researcher, Dr. Linder was appointed by
President Watkins as special assistant for the prevention of violence on campus. These
early initiatives led to Dr. Linder being named the Center Director for the McCluskey
Center for Violence Prevention--a center she also helped establish. Learn more about Dr. Linder, more about the McCluskey Center, and read the official announcement from the UofU.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Linder on this significant recognition of her
accomplishments, and thank her for all she does to improve our college, our campus,
and our community.
