John W. Bennion

John W. Bennion is an education consultant. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Utah and received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University in Educational Administration and Philosophy of Education. He has worked as a full time clinical professor of Educational Administration and Urban Education in the College of Education at the University of Utah.

John served as Superintendent of Salt Lake City and Provo School Districts in Utah and as superintendent of Bloomington Public School District in Bloomington, Minnesota and Brighton Central Schools in Rochester, New York. He was named Utah's Superintendent of the Year in 1992 and was given the Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of School Administrators in 2002. John and his extended family established a scholarship in the College of Education to honor his grandfather, Milton Bennion, a former Dean of the College of Education.
