Roger K. Allen's purpose is to bring enlightenment, love, and goodwill to all people he meets. He offers a rare set of skills to help people do deep and transformative work to reach their full potential. Using his engaging style, Roger has facilitated hundreds of workshops and seminars, making an impact on tens of thousands of people by creating a safe and yet honest environment from which to elicit high levels of personal accountability and achievement.
Since 1981, Roger has served as President of Human Development Institute (http://abouthdi.com/), providing thousands of hours of individual, marriage and family therapy to a diverse client population and supervising the work of other members of the professional staff. He has also provided training and consulting to businesses and developed and taught experiential programs in personal development and interpersonal relations in a number of cities around the country. These programs have been noted for their life-changing impact on the lives of thousands of people.
In 1992, Roger, along with Preston C. Pond, founded The Center for Organizational Design to help leaders create and sustain high performance/high commitment organizations. Roger offers a rare set of skills to help leaders do the deep work required to become a cohesive team capable of defining the direction of the organization and rallying employees behind them to achieve outstanding and sustainable business results. Roger has spearheaded major executive and organizational development projects with such clients as AT&T Capital, Ashland Chemical, Coach Leatherware, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Honeywell, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Proctor & Gamble, The US Forest Service and US West.
Roger is a creative and prolific innovator of personal and organizational development methodologies and products on topics of personal development, family relations, leadership, team development, and organizational design. He has certified over 800 independent trainers, consultants and coaches from around the country to utilize his personal and organizational development products.
Roger obtained his BS degree in psychology from Brigham Young University in 1975 where he graduated summa cum laude and was nominated Valedictorian of the College of Social Sciences. He spent a year in graduate study in the field of Organizational Behavior before going to the University of Minnesota to complete a Ph.D. in Psychology in 1980. An outdoor enthusiast, volunteer in his church and father of three adult children, Roger resides in metro Denver with Judy, his wife of 34 years.
Roger's father, C. Kay Allen, was an alumnus of the College's Department of Educational Psychology and helped to found the work that Roger continues today. Roger and his siblings provide a scholarship in the Department of Educational Psychology in their father's name.
