Dr. William Smith Awarded 2021 Distinguished Researcher Award
The College of Education is proud to announce that Dr. William Smith, Department Chair of Education, Culture, and Society, has been recognized for his research. Dr. Smith coined the term racial battle fatigue to describe the physical, emotional, and mental toll that systemic racism takes on people of color--an experience intensified and made worse due to the outsized racial effects of COVID-19. This prestigious award recognized Dr. Smith on issues of social justice like race, as well as numerous other scholarly activities. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Smith.
