Scholarship recipients honored at annual brunch

College of Education, Urban Institute for Teacher Education (UITE) scholarship recipients pose with Mary Burbank, UITE director.

Deserving students were recognized this morning, Sept. 27, as recipients of scholarships to the University of Utah College of Education. Recipients, donors and faculty gathered at the Marriott University Park Hotel for the college's annual Scholarship Award Recipient and Donor Recognition Brunch.

This year 113 scholarship awards were given that totalled to several hundred thousand dollars.

College department chairs publicly recognized each recipient who attended and presented each with a certificate honoring their achievement. College Dean Elaine Clark spoke as did Sarah George, the university's campus chief philanthropy officer, and Safia Keller, the College of Education's new development director.

The college congratulates the recipients and looks forward to working with them as they pursue their education. The college also extends its heartfelt appreciation to each of the donors who made these scholarships possible.
