This new book, Hope, Heart and the Humanities - How a Free College Course is Changing Lives, being released by the University of Utah Press later this month includes ELP emeriti Professor Dr. L. Jackson Newell. It is an initiative to address social justice in education at the ground level and talks about what five instructors learned over the last decade from teaching a year-long integrated humanities course in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Newell will also be a featured guest speaker for the ELP Higher Education Seminar Series on Monday, November 28th, at 11:30 am in Room 3151 of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts and Education Complex, where he will talk about his other book, “The Electric Edge of Academe: The Saga of L.L. Nunn and Deep Springs College.”
