Dr. Sharlene Kiuhara, special education faculty, is receiving the Early Career Publication Award
Dr. Sharlene Kiuhara, faculty member in special education, is receiving the Early
Career Publication Award from the Division for Research of the Council for Exceptional
Children. The award is being given for her article “The effectiveness of teaching
10th-grade students STOP, AIMS, and DARE for planning and drafting persuasive text”. This
was published in the journal Exceptional Children (2012), one of the most prestigious research journals in the field.(The article was
coauthored by Department of Special Education faculty Drs. Rob O’Neill and Leanne
Hawken, and Dr. Steven Graham from Arizona State University).
