Dr. Zac Imel receives National Institute of Drug Abuse grant award
Dr. Zachery E. Imel in the Department of Educational Psychology, along with consortium Universities in California and Washington, has received a three-year $742K grant award from the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA). The NIDA/R34 grant will allow the researchers to apply linguistic processing approaches to develop and test the feasibility of an initial technology for coding a central component of Motivational Interviewing (MI) – provider empathy and its specific behavioral indicators.
