Trisa Jensen Martin

Trisa has been involved in education for the past 30 years. She graduated with a BS
in elementary education from BYU and later earned her M.Ed. from the University of
Utah. She taught in Davis County schools as a full time and substitute teacher for
13 years. In 1998 she became an adjunct faculty member in the pre-teacher department
at Salt Lake Community College. She has also worked as the Associate Director of Adjunct
Issues with the Faculty Teaching and Learning Center at Salt Lake Community College
for three years. She received a Disabilities Resource Center Accessibility Awareness
Award at Salt Lake Community College for creating an environment conducive to learning
for students with disabilities.
Trisa and her husband, Keith W. Martin, are the parents of six children and grandparents of six. Five children graduated from the University of Utah and one graduated from Utah State University. Trisa has traveled throughout the world with her husband on international business and studied education in several countries. Her biography was included in Who's Who of American Women, 25th Silver Anniversary Edition, in 2005. She has published several articles on parenting and other issues and taught a lifelong learning writing class for the University of Utah. She received the Gold Quill Award for an outstanding collection of published articles from the League of Utah Writers in 1997.
